Enugu Government Approves Relocation of Two Slums.

The Enugu State Government has approved the relocation of Agu-Owa and Ugbo-Lawrence Slums in Enugu metropolis. This new development is to enable the administration to develop the area into utra modern place.

This was made know to Government house correspondents at the end of the state executive council (Exco) meeting president over by Governor Peter Mba at the weekend.

The Commissioner of works and infrastructure, Engr Gerald otiji said, “The Exco totally approved the urban renewal and relocation of the Slums.

We have identified 25 urban Slums in Enugu metropolis. We are starting with these two Slums Agu-Owa and Ugbo-Lawrence, Residents and families of the two Slums will be properly relocated.

Exco also highlighted the facilities that will be in the relocation site. It will have electricity, sport’s amenities, paved road, two bedroom flat and other facilities. Smart school will be there and also certificates of occupancy will be issued accordingly.

The two Slums which is Agu-Owa and Ugbo-Lawrence will be relocated to Akpuoga Nike Estate. It is an enclosed Estate with all amenities.

The Exco also gave the approval of real estate development called Tout-moi Nigeria Limited. Tout-Moi is an indigenous real estate development company with a niche for luxury eco-friendly smart home. This is in line with the Governor development agenda.

The proposed development model is to build luxurious housing units. A total of 43 housing units, which will include high rise apartments terrace building and semi detached building.

We also discussed on the ongoing upgrade of Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium where physical development will be witnessed. We also had discussions on 2025 marathon in Enugu State. The focus this time is bringing the marathon in line with international standard.
